This study will allow institutions to compare their current international tuition fees through a qualitative and quantitative benchmark analysis. It will provide a clear picture of the difference in international tuition fees for undergraduate, postgraduate and study abroad programs from all universities in Australia.
The extensive analysis of the average cost is divided into several discipline areas such as business, engineering, science, arts and many more and is consistent with AEI discipline areas.
This study is essential for all university and institution managers to better understand their institutions position in the market and we believe the important information contained in the report will provide support for future fee setting decisions.
The comparative analysis of 2017 international tuition fees for all 39 Australian universities is currently under development. The study will collect information on international tuition fees for undergraduate (Bachelor degrees only), postgraduate (Masters by coursework only) and study abroad programs in Australia which are widely available in the public domain.
The information will be aggregated and sorted into a selected group of categories with the objective of giving institutions valuable information to review and which will assist them in setting their future price strategy.
This is the third time this comparative analysis has been conducted. The 2017 report will include an analysis of fees for over 4,500 programs and will include over 80 pages of useful tables and charts.
In 2016 we have identified an insightful relationship between international rankings of Australian universities and the average international tuition fee for various programs (as per image). In general, it can be said that universities with a higher ranking usually set a higher tuition fee. However, there are some exceptions which we will explore in the 2017 report along with a thorough analysis of the relationship between international university rankings and international tuition fees.
In 2017 the analysis will also include useful and interesting information on the impact of exchange rates for selected currencies. The aim of this analysis is to provide a better understanding of the impact these variations have in the overall pricing structure set by universities.
So as to compare fees with previous years, the 2017 report will feature graphs and tables that provided the percentage increment in comparison with 2016 and 2015 fees. This was a useful addition that will allow institutions to understand how much competitors are increasing their fees every year.
