Since the start of 2022, 173,020 student visas have been lodged to study in Australia.

Another positive trend in the number of student visas lodge for higher education programs in Australia. During January and February, 40,001 student visas were lodged, representing a 48% increase compared to the same period in 2021. This figure is only 6% lower than 2020 pre-pandemic levels.


The latest dataset from the Department of Education, Skills and Employment (which is published annually) shows that in total in 2020, 24% of on-campus students in the university sector in Australia are international students. Check all the details here.

Another positive trend for the higher education sector in Australia. In the last three months, 21% ▲ more #studentvisas were lodged than in the same period in 2020. December also had the 2nd largest number of student visas lodged since the start of the pandemic.  


A positive trend in the number of student visa holders in higher education programs in Australia. Since the lowest level was reported back in October, it has been continuously growing and we could expect a 12% increase by the end of February.

As expected, this is still below pre-pandemic levels but the positive trend is better than our original estimates.
